Enjoy an exclusive excursion to the plateau of the Zugspitze (2,962 metres), as well on the traces of King Ludwig II of Bavaria – to his world-famous Neuschwanstein castle.
During our journey to our destinations, we will have enough time to chat and I will be happy to tell you interesting facts about our destination and my lovely home state of Bavaria.
As soon as we have arrived at the beautiful Eibsee, one of the most beautiful lakes in Bavaria, the new Zugspitz cable car (opened 2017) will take us very close to the highest peak in Germany. During your stay on the plateau you will learn interesting information about the region – plus you will enjoy a tasty traditional lunch inside the Panorama Lounge 2962! Meal plus a drink of your choice is included in the tour price.
When we arrive at the fairy tale Neuschwanstein castle, we will discover the fairytale castle from the outside. There are a variety of great photo opportunities there, be it the castle itself, the old Marienbrücke or the spectacular surrounding area. Despite the main residence of the Bavarian monarchs at the time – the Munich Residenz – being one of the most extensive palace complexes in the world, King Ludwig II of Bavaria felt the need to escape from the constraints he saw himself exposed to in Munich, and commissioned Neuschwanstein Palace on the remote northern edges of the Alps as a retreat but also in honour of composer Richard Wagner, whom he greatly admired.
After we’ve discovered the Neuschwantstein castle we will make our way home – back to the agreed starting point or hotel/accommodation!
