Your Journey Day by Day

Day 1: Neuschwanstein Castle, Hohenschwangau & The Bavarian Alps

Your royal adventure begins with a comfortable pickup from your Munich accommodation. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic drive through the beautiful Bavarian countryside toward the Alps.

Soon the mountains rise in front of us as we arrive in the village of Schwangau, home to the legendary Neuschwanstein Castle — King Ludwig II’s most iconic creation and the inspiration behind Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle.

We’ll explore Neuschwanstein Castle from the inside and outside, discovering the fascinating story of Bavaria’s mysterious “Fairytale King” and the dreams that inspired this extraordinary palace.

Just across the valley sits Hohenschwangau Castle, the yellow palace where Ludwig spent his childhood. From here, the young king first gazed at the surrounding mountains and imagined building his own magical castles.

After a traditional Bavarian lunch with Alpine views, we check into the beautiful 4-star Das König Ludwig Inspiration SPA Hotel in Schwangau.

The evening is free for you to relax at the spa, enjoy dinner at the hotel, or explore the peaceful Alpine surroundings.

Day 2: Linderhof Palace, Ettal Abbey & Oberammergau

After a delicious breakfast surrounded by Alpine scenery, we continue our journey through the Bavarian Alps.

Our first stop is Linderhof Palace, the only palace King Ludwig II lived to see completed. Inspired by Versailles, this elegant palace is surrounded by beautiful gardens, golden fountains, and the famous Venus Grotto.

Next we visit Ettal Abbey, a magnificent Benedictine monastery founded in the 14th century. The monks who live here are famous for their traditional beer, liqueurs, and centuries-old craftsmanship.

We’ll also explore the charming village of Oberammergau, known for its beautifully painted houses and the world-famous Passion Play, performed here every ten years.

In the afternoon we continue east through scenic Bavarian countryside to the Chiemgau region, where we check into the luxurious 5-star Das Achental Resort.

The evening is free for you to enjoy the hotel’s spa, dine at one of the excellent restaurants, or take a peaceful walk through the surrounding countryside.

Day 3: Herrenchiemsee Palace & Lake Chiemsee

After breakfast we begin our scenic drive to Lake Chiemsee, often called the “Bavarian Sea.”

Here we board a relaxing boat ride across Lake Chiemsee to reach Herrenchiemsee Island, home to King Ludwig II’s most ambitious palace.

Inspired by the Palace of Versailles, Herrenchiemsee Palace is a breathtaking masterpiece featuring lavish royal apartments, golden chandeliers, and the spectacular Hall of Mirrors.

After exploring the palace and its magnificent gardens, we’ll enjoy a traditional Bavarian lunch at a charming lakeside restaurant, taking in the beautiful scenery of the lake and the surrounding Alps.

In the afternoon we begin our comfortable journey back to Munich, enjoying the stunning Bavarian landscapes one last time.
