Your Journey Day by Day

Day 1: Salzburg – Music, History & Old-World Charm

Your adventure begins with a comfortable pickup from your Munich accommodation. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic drive toward Austria as we head into the beautiful Alpine region.

Soon we arrive in the charming city of Salzburg, the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and one of Europe’s most beautiful historic cities.

We’ll explore the baroque Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with elegant churches, historic squares, and charming streets.

During our visit we’ll explore Mozart’s Birthplace and Residence, admire the magnificent Salzburg Cathedral, and take the funicular up to the impressive Fortress Hohensalzburg, where breathtaking views stretch across the city and the surrounding Alps.

We’ll also stop at the hidden Mönchsberg viewing platform, offering one of the most spectacular panoramic views of Salzburg.

After a traditional Austrian lunch at a charming local restaurant, we continue our journey into the Bavarian Alps.

In the afternoon we arrive at the beautiful 5-star Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden, a luxurious mountain retreat surrounded by breathtaking Alpine scenery.

The evening is free for you to relax at the spa, enjoy dinner at the hotel, or simply take in the peaceful mountain views.

Day 2: Lake Königssee & The Berchtesgaden Salt Mine

After a delicious breakfast with mountain views, we begin the day with a short drive to one of the most beautiful natural wonders in Germany — Lake Königssee.

Surrounded by towering cliffs and pristine forests, this emerald-green Alpine lake is famous for its crystal-clear water and dramatic scenery.

We’ll board a quiet electric-powered boat that glides across the lake deep into the heart of the Alps. Along the way the boat captain demonstrates the famous Königssee echo, where the surrounding mountains reflect the sound back across the water.

Our stop is the iconic St. Bartholomew’s Church, nestled against the dramatic backdrop of the Watzmann mountain range.

After returning from the lake, we’ll enjoy a traditional Bavarian lunch at one of my favorite local restaurants.

In the afternoon we visit the historic Berchtesgaden Salt Mine, where you’ll dress like a miner, slide down wooden miner slides, cross an underground salt lake, and discover Bavaria’s 500-year-old salt mining tradition.

The evening is again free to enjoy the luxurious surroundings of the Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden.

Day 3: The Eagle’s Nest & Alpine History

After a relaxed breakfast surrounded by the stunning Alpine landscape, we set out to explore one of the most famous historical sites in the Bavarian Alps.

During the summer months we visit the legendary Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), perched high above the mountains at 1,834 meters. A scenic mountain road and historic brass elevator take us up to this remarkable building, where breathtaking panoramic views stretch across the Alps.

During the winter season, when the Eagle’s Nest road is closed, we instead explore the fascinating Dokumentationszentrum Obersalzberg, a museum that provides deep insight into the region’s complex history during World War II.

Before leaving the Alps, we’ll enjoy one final traditional Bavarian lunch at a scenic restaurant, taking in the mountain views one last time.

In the afternoon we begin our comfortable journey back to Munich, enjoying the spectacular Alpine scenery along the way.
