Your Journey Day by Day

Day 1: Linderhof Palace, Neuschwanstein Castle & The Bavarian Alps

Your adventure begins with a comfortable pickup from your Munich accommodation. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic drive through the rolling Bavarian countryside toward the Alps.

Along the way, I’ll share the fascinating story of King Ludwig II, the visionary monarch whose extravagant castles and mysterious life continue to captivate visitors from around the world.

Our first stop is Linderhof Palace, Ludwig’s private retreat and the only palace he lived to see completed. Inspired by Versailles, this beautiful palace is surrounded by elegant gardens, golden fountains, and the famous Venus Grotto.

Next we continue deeper into the Bavarian Alps to visit the iconic Neuschwanstein Castle, the real-life fairytale palace that inspired Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle. Perched high above the valley, this remarkable castle looks like it belongs in a dream.

We’ll explore Neuschwanstein Castle from the inside and outside, discovering the lavish halls and fascinating stories behind Ludwig’s most famous creation.

After a wonderful day of castles and Alpine scenery, we check into the beautiful Das König Ludwig Inspiration SPA Hotel in Schwangau, a luxurious 4-star retreat surrounded by mountain views.

The evening is free for you to relax at the spa, enjoy dinner at the hotel, or explore the peaceful Alpine surroundings.

Day 2: Herrenchiemsee Palace & Lake Chiemsee

After a delicious Bavarian breakfast at the hotel, we begin our scenic drive east toward Lake Chiemsee, often called the “Bavarian Sea.”

A relaxing boat ride across Lake Chiemsee brings us to Herrenchiemsee Island, home to King Ludwig II’s most ambitious palace.

Inspired by the Palace of Versailles, Herrenchiemsee Palace is Ludwig’s grandest project. Inside, you’ll discover the breathtaking Hall of Mirrors, lavish royal apartments, and magnificent golden fountains in the palace gardens.

After exploring the palace, we’ll enjoy a traditional Bavarian lunch at a charming lakeside restaurant, surrounded by beautiful Alpine views.

Before leaving the lake, we’ll take a relaxed stroll through the picturesque island village of Fraueninsel, known for its charming streets, historic monastery, and peaceful lakeside atmosphere.

In the afternoon we begin our comfortable journey back toward Munich, enjoying the scenic Bavarian landscapes one last time.

Can I customize my tour?

Certainly – If you wish, your private tour can be designed according to your interests, special ideas or particular focus – tailor-made themes or experiences are also no problem.

Can I change the pick-up and drop-off location?

Yes – This wonderful trip starts usually from Munich. However, in case your hotel or private accommodation is located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Fuessen, Berchtesgaden, Salzburg or in between, please let me know. I might have to ask for a little bit more, but I’m more than happy to pick you up somewhere else.

Can the pick-up and drop-off location be different?

Yes – I can pick you up for example at Munich airport and drop you off after our adventure at your chosen hotel. I might have to ask for a little bit more, but I’m more than happy to make your adventure as comfortable as it gets.
