Your Journey Day by Day
Day 1: Neuschwanstein Castle, Linderhof Palace & Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Your adventure begins with a comfortable pickup from your Munich accommodation. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic drive through the Bavarian countryside as we head toward the Alps.
Soon we arrive in the village of Schwangau, home to the legendary Neuschwanstein Castle — King Ludwig II’s most famous creation and the inspiration behind Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle.
We’ll explore Neuschwanstein Castle from the inside and outside, discovering the fascinating story of Bavaria’s mysterious “Fairytale King” and the extraordinary dreams that inspired this remarkable palace.
Next we travel through the Alpine valleys to visit Linderhof Palace, Ludwig’s private retreat and the only palace he lived to see completed. Inspired by Versailles, this elegant palace is surrounded by beautiful gardens, golden fountains, and the famous Venus Grotto.
After enjoying a traditional Bavarian lunch with Alpine views, we continue to the charming mountain town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, one of Bavaria’s most famous Alpine destinations.
Here we check into the beautiful 4-star Hotel Zugspitze, a cozy Alpine retreat in the heart of the town.
The evening is free for you to relax at the hotel spa, stroll through the charming streets of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, or enjoy dinner at one of the town’s wonderful Bavarian restaurants.
Day 2: The Zugspitze – Germany’s Highest Peak
After a delicious Bavarian breakfast at the hotel, we begin the highlight of the journey — a visit to Germany’s highest mountain.
A spectacular cable car ride carries us high above the Alps to the summit of the Zugspitze (2,962 meters). From the top, breathtaking 360-degree views stretch across the rugged Alpine landscape and into Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy.
At the summit we’ll enjoy time to take in the views, explore the mountain station, and enjoy a traditional lunch with spectacular Alpine scenery.
If you’d like, you can even step across the border into Austria at the summit.
After descending the mountain, we’ll take a relaxed stroll through Garmisch-Partenkirchen, giving you time to explore the town, browse local shops, or simply enjoy the fresh mountain air.
In the afternoon we begin our scenic drive back to Munich, enjoying the beauty of the Bavarian Alps one last time.
