Day 1: Neuschwanstein, Linderhof & A Night in the Bavarian Alps

Our journey begins with a comfortable pickup from your Munich hotel or private accommodation. Waiting for you in the car? Cool drinks, Bavarian snacks, and a warm welcome! As we drive through the rolling countryside and Alpine foothills, I’ll share the fascinating story of Ludwig II—the visionary king whose extravagant castles and mysterious life continue to captivate the world.

First stop: Linderhof Castle, Ludwig’s personal retreat and his only fully completed palace. Inspired by Versailles, this small yet breathtakingly ornate castle is surrounded by lush gardens, golden fountains, and hidden grottoes.

Next, we head to Neuschwanstein Castle, the real-life fairytale palace that inspired Disney. Perched on a rugged cliffside, this masterpiece is straight out of a dream. With exclusive tour access, you’ll step inside the lavish halls and secret passageways where Ludwig lived out his royal fantasies.

After a day of royal splendor, we check into Das König Ludwig Inspiration SPA Hotel in Schwangau, a 4-star luxury retreat nestled in the Alps. Enjoy an evening of Bavarian fine dining, spa relaxation, or simply soaking in the magical mountain views.

Day 2: Herrenchiemsee & Lake Chiemsee

After a delicious breakfast, we head east toward Lake Chiemsee, Bavaria’s largest and most beautiful lake. A scenic boat ride takes us to Herrenchiemsee Castle, Ludwig’s grandest and most ambitious project. Modeled after the Palace of Versailles, this opulent masterpiece features a stunning Hall of Mirrors, lavish state rooms, and an extravagant golden fountain garden.

After lunch at a charming lakeside restaurant, we take a relaxing stroll through the historic island of Fraueninsel, a hidden gem known for its cobblestone streets, medieval charm, and breathtaking views of the Bavarian Alps.

In the afternoon, we begin our comfortable journey back to Munich, taking in the majestic scenery one last time.

Linderhof Castle

As soon as we have arrived at Linderhof Castle, where King Ludwig II lived for more than 8 years, you will explore the palace on a small-group guided tour. Following up we will have plenty of great photo opportunities, be it the castle itself, the formal gardens and Moorish Kiosk

On our way to the Neuschwanstein castle, all participants will get a delicious Bavarian lunch in a traditional and historical restaurant – Main course of your choice plus one Drink is include in your tour package 🙂

Neuschwanstein Castle

Our next stop is the fairy tale Neuschwanstein Castle. Here you will have time to explore the Castle from inside on a small-group guided tour. Following up we will have plenty of great photo opportunities, be it the castle itself, the old Marienbrücke, or the spectacular surrounding mountain area.

Das König Ludwig Inspiration SPA Hotel

After our check-in (around 5PM) at our 4-star hotel the rest of the day is totally up to you – its your time! You can enjoy the hotel or explore the town on your own. We’ll see each other after breakfast on the next day – and yes, I’m looking forward too 🙂

Das König Ludwig Inspiration SPA Hotel

After our breakfast at the Das König Ludwig Inspiration SPA Hotel Schwangau and our successful check-out of this wonderful hotel, we will prepare ourselves for our next adventure – lake Chiemsee and Herrenchiemsee (New Palace) Castle!

Day 2 / Stop 2 :

Lake Chiemsee

As soon as we have arrived at the beautiful Chiemsee, we will make a boat trip towards the picturesque – the Herreninsel!

Day 2 / Stop 3 :

Herrenchiemsee Castle

After arriving on the Herreninsel, we will explore the magnificent Herrenchiemsee (New Castle) by a tour through the Palace, as well the huge Garden.

Day 2 / Stop 4 :

Fraueninsel Chiemsee

We’ll continue, of course still by boat, to the next stop – the Fraueninsel! After arriving on the Fraueninsel, we’ll stop for a delicious Bavarian lunch in a typical beer garden. Meal plus a drink of your choice is included in the tour price.

Day 2 / Stop 5 :

Frauenchiemsee Monastery

Strengthened from a sufficient local lunch, we will walk along the lakeside and visit the historical Benedictine abbey.

Day 2 / Stop 4 :

Munich

After our lake Chiemsee visit, we will going back to Munich – approx. arrival time in Munich will be 5 pm. Drop-Off will be the same location like Pick-up on day one, unless your wish is different. For example Munich airport.

Can I customize my tour?

Certainly – If you wish, your private tour can be designed according to your interests, special ideas or particular focus – tailor-made themes or experiences are also no problem.

Can I change the pick-up and drop-off location?

Yes – This wonderful trip starts usually from Munich. However, in case your hotel or private accommodation is located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Fuessen, Berchtesgaden, Salzburg or in between, please let me know. I might have to ask for a little bit more, but I’m more than happy to pick you up somewhere else.

Can the pick-up and drop-off location be different?

Yes – I can pick you up for example at Munich airport and drop you off after our adventure at your chosen hotel. I might have to ask for a little bit more, but I’m more than happy to make your adventure as comfortable as it gets.

Do you offer pick-up and drop-off service from the airport?

What types of vehicles are used for transportation?

Up to 3 guests are operated with a luxury SUV such as: a BMW X3, Volvo XC60 or similar.

Up to 8 guests are operated with a comfortable minibus such as: a Mercedes Benz Vito or similar.
