Your Journey Day by Day
Day 1: Salzburg – Music, History & Old-World Charm
Your adventure begins with a comfortable pickup from your Munich accommodation. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic drive toward Austria as we travel through rolling countryside and Alpine landscapes.
Soon we arrive in the beautiful city of Salzburg, birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and one of Europe’s most charming historic cities.
We’ll explore the elegant baroque Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with historic squares, grand churches, and charming streets.
During our visit we’ll explore Mozart’s Birthplace and Residence, admire the magnificent Salzburg Cathedral, and take the funicular up to the impressive Fortress Hohensalzburg, where breathtaking views stretch across the city and the surrounding Alps.
We’ll also stop at the scenic Mönchsberg viewing platform, one of Salzburg’s best panoramic photo spots.
After a traditional Austrian lunch at a charming local restaurant, we continue our journey back into Germany and into the heart of the Bavarian Alps.
In the afternoon we arrive at the luxurious 5-star Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden, a beautiful Alpine retreat surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery.
The evening is free for you to relax at the spa, enjoy dinner at the hotel, or simply take in the peaceful Alpine atmosphere.
Day 2: Lake Königssee & Alpine Wonders
After a relaxed breakfast with stunning mountain views, we set out to explore one of the most beautiful natural wonders in Germany — Lake Königssee.
Surrounded by towering cliffs and pristine forests, this emerald-green Alpine lake is famous for its crystal-clear water and dramatic scenery.
We’ll board a quiet electric-powered boat and glide across the lake deep into the heart of the Alps. Along the way the boat captain demonstrates the famous Königssee echo, where the surrounding mountains reflect the sound back across the water.
Our stop is the iconic St. Bartholomew’s Church, nestled beneath the dramatic backdrop of the Watzmann mountain range.
After returning from the lake, we’ll enjoy a traditional Bavarian lunch at one of my favorite local restaurants.
In the afternoon we visit the historic Berchtesgaden Salt Mine, where you’ll dress like a miner, slide down wooden miner slides, cross an underground salt lake, and discover Bavaria’s centuries-old salt mining tradition.
Before returning to Munich, we’ll take a relaxed stroll through the charming Alpine town of Berchtesgaden, soaking in the beauty of this special place one last time.
In the afternoon we begin our comfortable journey back to Munich, enjoying the stunning Alpine scenery along the way.
